De-Alkalisers

De-Alkaliser Application and Benefits

De-Alkalisers are used in water treatment to remove alkalinity from water.

De-alkalisers use weak cation resin to change the bicarbonates, (alkalinity), to carbonic acid. This acid is removed from the water by a de-gasifier. When exhausted, the resin is regenerated by acid. Normally hydrochloric, or sulfuric acid is used.

This range of de-alkaliser products is designed for commercial and industrial applications.

Design Benefits

Packed Resin Columns

Packed resin columns allow for the controlled exhaustion of the resin.

Using a uniformed sized resin bead, this results in a horizontal exhaustion wave travelling up the de-alkaliser vessel, as the resin exhausts.

If the de-alkaliser is regenerated on volume, this exhaustion wave can be contained within the resin volume, avoiding alkalinity break through.

Fluidized Beds

The flow is up the vessel. This reduces hydraulic frictional losses through the resin bed and allows for deeper resin beds than conventional designs
