Green Sand Filters

Green sand filters are used in water treatment to remove iron and manganese from bore waters. They have large operating cost advantages over softeners for this purpose, as the filter only targets the iron and manganese, plus hydrogen sulfide, if this is present and does not soften the water.

Green sand Filters: System Specifications

  • Vessel: FRP.
  • Fully Automatic. Regenerates on delta pressure, volume and/or time. PLC Controller.
  • Electrically Safe: 240V; 50 Hz supply to Controller. 24VDC supply to pressure transducer and actuated valves.
  • Pressure: 210 – 825 kPa
  • Vacuum: Nil (use vacuum breaker if there is any potential for vacuum.)
  • Turbidity: 10.0 NTU maximum.
